I've been mailed about that twice now, as well as via this post. It does sound like a good idea, but I don't have the time for it right now... work, etc... fume.
Should be able to have a go at this over the summer, though. There'll be more time then.
I will add that they'll be in PNG format, not GIF.

So it seems I've misread the original post. What I've been asked before is to provide a ton of sprites with regards to using them for future remakes, rather than as downloadable animations.
For any remake - and I've seen this before with Dizzy - you need each individual sprite, either in a single file each or in a strip. Presenting this as an MNG animation would take up unnessecary space, and the extra compression needed to put it into a workable file size would be far too much. Think of this sequence of Rick walking two steps:
(1) Stand up straight (2) Right leg halfway out (3) Right leg out (4) Right leg halfway out (5) Stand up straight (6) Left leg halfway out (7) Left leg out (8) Left leg halfway out (9) Stand up straight (etc)
A repeating sequence of frames 1-8 gives the impression of Rick walking with about as smooth an animation as you can expect at this resolution - but it only needs five individual frames.
As I've said before, RDR is a GIF-free site, and that means no animations until I can program Flash, which will be quite a way off.
What I may do is provide information on how to compile the individual frames into an animation, with (say) Jasc Animation Shop - which in the example above, denoting the frames A to E, would work something like this:
(A) Stand up straight (B) Right leg halfway out (C) Right leg out (B) Right leg halfway out (A) Stand up straight (D) Left leg halfway out (E) Left leg out (D) Left leg halfway out
...and this should be in a repeating sequence.
If I did provide downloadable animations, they'd be in FLC format to save space, as they ZIP better than GIF animations, though FLC files are themselves far larger. Anyone with a copy of Animation Shop can convert FLC to GIF.

Well, In a single picture or gif.
I use Multimedia Fusion to make my games, so I have to copy and paste the images into it anyway.

In which case, as someone else has asked for it this way, it'll be all the sprites in one strip.
Hope I don't miss any out. There's walking (5 frames), crawling (2), firing the gun (1), poking the stick (1), jumping (1), WAAAA (2), climbing (2 if I remember right)... any more for any more?
Obviously, there's a left and a right to some of these as well...

...that was implied, but I think I'll do Rick first. Rick has the highest number of sprites to rip, and is the integral part of the game...

Would this help? All sprites, ripped using xrick ( www.bigorno.net/xrick) development tools. These are the Atari ST sprites. I could do the PC CGA sprites too if you have a taste for them ;-) More seriously, I could do the tiles too: drop me an email (bigorno<at>bigorno.net) if you're interested. Cheers, Stephen
